MyHealth Records:
There is finally a way to check your lab results online instead of making multiple doctor appointments. Alberta Health has come out with a new website/app that allows adult Albertans to check their own medical info right from their computer, tablet or smart phone.
What You Can Access:
- Results from common lab tests as soon as they’re done
- Community pharmacy medication lists from the past 18 months
- Most immunizations you’ve had
- Printable reports to share with your healthcare provider
Additional Features:
You will also find journals that allow you to track your fitness goals, weight, moods and more. You can upload information from current devices such as glucose monitors, blood pressure monitors and fitness trackers.
How to Sign Up:
- The first step in signing up is to verify your identity. You will need your drivers license or Alberta Identification card, and a personal email address.
- Click “sign up” at the bottom of the MyHealth records homepage
- Fill out your info & confirm your email address
- Verify your account with your ID – all information must match your card exactly to be accepted
- Wait for your letter in the mail with your access code (allow up to 10 days)
- Log back in with your access code to complete the account verification
- Create your account and enter your Personal Health Number
Once your account has been set up and verified, you can access your health information from anywhere. This means less anxiety over waiting for test results, less doctor visits, and more control over your own health.
There is also a support line if you need help signing up, have questions, would like to speak to a nurse, or if you have any questions about your account. It’s open Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm and Saturdays and Holidays from 10am to 2pm. Tel: 1-844-401-4016.
Your information is protected by authenticated accounts, data encryption and regular security audits on the website. Alberta Health plans to add more features in the future.Â

Hopefully this helps reduce a whole lot of cost to the medical system. One can never rely that they received the call from the doctors office that they should have gotten if results to tests needed followup. Another thing we should be able to access is charges made for doctor visits.
