Things to Do at International Children’s Festival in St. Albert, 2018

The International Children’s Festival has started this week, and is wrapping up this weekend! This is definitely something to see – if you can get down to St. Albert with the family, you should! Both Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3, the festival runs from 9:30am to 5pm. Here are some of the activities lined up for the weekend, lots of arts, crafts, learning activities, live performances, and other things to discover with the kids! They even have a sensory friendly performance lined up!

The Blue Flame Toonie Breakfast

From 9am to 11am at the St. Albert Place Plaza (only a $2 donation!) and will have pancakes, sausages, juice and coffee, alongside outdoor entertainment!

Toddler Town

$10 per child and is located in Millennium Park. It is for children aged 0-4 (adults are free). This area features an interactive environment filled with singing, dancing, outdoor play, crafts, sensory bins and more. They also have a place to park your stroller and quiet areas for nursing, diaper changes and down time.

Site Activities

Site activities include design challenges, Chinese calligraphy, paper making, code quest and more! Don’t forget about the airbrush tattoos and roving artists that will not only entertain, but have the whole family laughing!

Sensory Inclusion Program

The Children’s Festival even has a Sensory Inclusion Program which features a sensory friendly family performance on Sunday, June 3 at 11:30 called the Rainbow Fish. More info on the show can be found here.

Activities on the weekend include scheduled performances like Thumbelina, Neverland, Junie B. Jones, the Mystery Wonder show and more!
