The Festival of Trees is back, And You’re Going to Want to Bring the Kids to the Children’s Christmas Lane Section

The Festival of Trees is running this year from November 29 to December 2. Expect magical looking displays, holiday shopping, entertainment, food, Santa and a children’s Christmas lane, among other activities to enjoy.

The Children’s Christmas Lane

The Secret Shop – Let the kids become a real Christmas shopper in the “Secret Shop” – They are going to love the child-sized door made just for them. Santa’s helpers are inside to greet and help the little shoppers while they find presents for their family and friends. No item is over $5!

Free Kids Activities include:

  • University Hospital Foundation Display: See how a real CT scan works
  • Hospital Room: play doctor in the simulated hospital room!
  • North Pole office: Write a letter to Santa and send it directly to him with the express delivery option that goes straight to the North Pole
  • Santa’s Den: Take pictures with Santa in his cozy den
  • Story Nook: Festival volunteers read Christmas stories to the kids, from the Night Before Christmas to How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Paid Kids Activities:

Coupons for the paid activities are just $1 each. They can be purchased on the mobile app or on site.

Hockey Shoot – shoot three pucks into the net for a chance to win a prize: 2 coupons

Ice n’ Eat – decorate and eat your own gingerbread cookie: 2 coupons

Festive Temporary Tattoos – one on and one to take home: 1 coupon

Trim a Tree – decorate and take home your own mini Christmas tree: 6 coupons

The entire event is really something to see with the family – PLUS, it’s a fund raising event for the University hospital.

  • Special Needs Guest – $2
  • Caretaker/Companion of Special Needs Guest – $2

The festival will take place at the Shaw Conference Centre: 9797 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton.
