Mowing the lawn can be a lot easier! Have you ever tried going “bagless” ?? It’s so easy – just remove the collection bag from your lawn mower and let the grass clippings fall back onto the lawn. This saves you from having to empty the container, meaning no more grass bagging, hauling around heavy bags and dealing with the disposal.
Why it’s good for your lawn:
- It reduces the need for excess watering, as it keeps moisture in the ground
- It’s good for the lawn! You’ll have a more luscious, healthy looking lawn over time
- Grass clippings break down quickly and add nutrients to the soil
Why it’s good for you:
- Leaving the grass clippings helps form an extra layer of protection, reducing weeds – your lawn will look better with less effort needed from you
- You don’t have to worry about bagging up the grass
- No more grass bag disposal to think about – save your effort (and if you’re like me, your back!)
- Save money: you won’t need to water your grass as often and grass clippings provide free fertilizer
Myths about going bagless:
- Leaving grass clippings on the lawn leaves it looking untidy: False. When lawns are cut regularly, the small grass clippings fall between the existing grass blades and are barely even noticeable
- You need a different kind of mower to go bagless: False. Any mower will work for leaving grass clippings on the lawn. Just remove bag from your existing mower.
- You have to go bagless every single time: False. When the grass is really wet or very long, it can clump together and it may be a better idea to bag & toss that round – and that’s okay! That’s what our green bins are for.
- Going bagless requires less effort from the person mowing, making lawn care quicker and easier: TRUE 🙂
