The park at Florence Hallock elementary/Junior High school is amazing. One of the better parks we have been to as a family with a toddler and two older girls for sure. It’s hard to find a park that has something for everyone with the age gap between all of my girls, but this one hits the nail on the head.
Not only is there a shaded picnic bench area for parents to sit, but it’s soft rubber ground all around the equipment area (although it does have a small sand pit off to the side, too). The play area has easy to climb and safer toddler-friendly sections to it, swings – including a full-size toddler swing, tall slides, and a ZIPLINE. You read that right. And if you think I didn’t try it out myself, you’re wrong because I totally did and it was so much fun.
Right next to the park is a full basketball court, and the park itself is part of a huge lot of all fields, approximately 5 blocks x 3 blocks total area (including the school) means lots of room for soccer, Frisbee, and even hanging out in the sun – I have seen people bring towels and lay down to tan!
The park is located in a mostly residential area, so it is very quiet and usually not too terribly busy. Definitely one of our favorites!
Let us know what your favorite parks are around the city and why you love them, so we can check those out too! Play safe, everyone!
