Over 50 true-to-life-sized animatronic dinosaurs including an 80-foot Apatosaurus, 60-foot Spinosaurus, and a full lifesize T. rex. Plus fossil digs, rideable dinosaurs, bounce houses, LEGO build stations, a derby track, Tricera-TOTS for the little ones, and dino crafts. The beloved TD Elk Island Express free shuttle returns for summer 2026 starting this Saturday — and this year, park admission is also free until September 7 thanks to the Canada Strong Pass. No car needed. Board the bus in downtown Edmonton, arrive at Elk Island in about an hour, and spend the day watching bison roam freely across the prairie. June 27 is a Backstage Bison Tour date, meaning riders get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Parks Canada Bison Handling Facility with interpreters. After that, four hours of free time at Astotin Lake: picnic on the beach, explore trails, play on the playground, and watch for wildlife. Bus departs the park around 3:30–5:30 PM. Register in advance at parkbus.ca — the $15 deposit is refunded when you show up on time.
