Edmonton Child & Youth Summer Pass Returns for Summer 2026!

The Edmonton Child & Youth Summer Pass is Back (And It’s One of the Best Deals in the City) 🌞

If you’re already dreading the “I’m bored” chorus that starts approximately 48 hours into summer break, I have great news for you.

The City of Edmonton’s Child & Youth Summer Pass is back for Summer 2026, and honestly, it might be the best $25 (or $35) you spend all summer.

So What Is It?

The Child & Youth Summer Pass gives kids and teens ages 2–17 unlimited access to City of Edmonton recreation facilities from the moment you activate it. We’re talking:

  • Indoor and outdoor swimming pools
  • Fitness centres
  • Gymnasiums
  • Drop-in activities
  • Virtual fitness classes

One pass. All summer. No daily admission fees adding up every time your kid wants to hit the pool. 🙌

How Much Does It Cost?

Here’s the part that actually made me do a double-take:

  • Ages 2–12: $25/month
  • Ages 13–17: $35/month

The pass is valid for 30 days from the date of activation, and you can purchase it anytime between June 10 and August 31, 2026.

If your family hits the pool even a handful of times a month, this pass pays for itself fast.

Outdoor Pools Are Opening — Here’s When 🏊

One of my favourite perks of this pass is the outdoor pool access. Here’s when Edmonton’s outdoor pools are scheduled to open this summer (weather and air quality permitting):

Pool Opening Date
Wîhkwêntôwin Outdoor Pool May 20, 2026
Mill Creek Outdoor Pool May 23, 2026
Fred Broadstock Outdoor Pool June 6, 2026
Queen Elizabeth Outdoor Pool June 10, 2026
Borden Natural Swimming Pool June 20, 2026

A Few Things to Know Before You Buy

  • The pass cannot be combined with other discounts
  • Access is valid during public use times only
  • If your child already has a continuous monthly or annual pass, you’ll need to put it on vacation hold before purchasing the Summer Pass
  • Youth ages 12–15 must complete the free Youth in Action Orientation before using City fitness centres. It’s free and easy to book!

Where to Buy

You can grab the pass in person at any City of Edmonton recreation centre, or online through Move Learn Play. If you buy online, just swing by any rec centre or pool to pick up your membership card (they’ll snap a photo for it right there).

You can also use the phone number on your account for entry, or add the membership card to the Stocard app, handy for kids who are always losing things. 😅

Bottom Line

Between the outdoor pools, drop-in activities, and gym access, this pass is genuinely one of the best summer activity deals Edmonton offers. Whether your kid is a water baby, a gym rat in the making, or just needs somewhere fun to go with friends, this pass covers it all.

Passes go on sale June 10, so mark your calendar and grab one before the summer rush!
