Taste of Edmonton opens Thursday in Churchill Square with 230 dishes from 50 local restaurants. The Neon Skies Festival brings Conan Gray to ICE District Friday and Kesha Saturday. The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival runs all weekend at Kinsmen Park with Aziz Ansari, Pete Davidson, and Matt Rife. The Edmonton Elks Dog Days of Summer game Friday lets you actually bring your dog to Commonwealth Stadium. The Corgi Derby at Century Mile is Saturday afternoon — the first ever. Fan Park opens at 5:30 PM with The Brick Kids Zone including inflatables, face painting, balloon artists, and the EE Express Train (all free without a game ticket). One of the most iconic Alberta summer evenings — and it’s completely free. Jaws at the Lake returns to Sylvan Lake for 2026 as a double feature: the family-friendly Shark Tale kicks off at 6:30 PM, then Jaws takes over as the sun goes down at 9 PM with the famous soundtrack echoing across the water. Watch from the beach on a blanket or lawn chair, or float on the lake itself during the film — the dual-sided screen is visible from the water. Live music, lawn games, a bucking shark attraction, and food trucks run from 5 PM. Arrive early for the best beach spots. Bring a tube if you want to watch from the water, and water shoes for the little ones. An absolutely legendary Alberta summer night and absolutely worth the drive.
