Your Guide to K-Days With the Kids, Edmonton 2019 + GIVEAWAY

K-Days is back again for another year of fun in Edmonton. We have the breakdown of things to do, best deals, how to get in for FREE, and what to expect – plus a give away for two ride all day passes!

K-Days Parade:

The K-Days parade starts at 10am on Friday, July 19. It starts at Jasper Avenue & 108 Street, travelling east to 101 street. From there, it turns north on to 103 Avenue and ends at 103 Street. Expect beautiful floats, giant balloons, performers, mascots and real animals. The theme this year is Alberta Music.

Admission & Ride Passes:

  • Kids 6 years old and under is FREE
  • Anyone 13+ is $20
  • Youth (7-12) and seniors is $18

Note that ride passes and admission passes are sold separately

Ride-all-day passes are $51 and the express access pass is an additional $25. Tickets are also available for individual purchase. Each ride takes 4-6 tickets. Ride passes and admission tickets can be purchased beforehand online or on site. More info on passes can be found here.

  • Admission tickets can be purchased in store at select Costco locations (or at costco.ca),  and at Save-On-Foods and Circle K for a discount until July 18, 2019.
  • Family Day Sunday July 28 Admission presented by Londonderry Mall: $58 (including taxes and fees) which includes admission for two adults and two youth (ages 7-12)

Get in for FREE – On Sunday, July 21 anyone with a physical library card can get admission to the K-Days grounds for FREE! See more info here.

Feature Days:

  • Sunday, July 21 – EPL card holders get free admission!
  • Tuesday, July 23 – Seniors 60+ get free admission – See the Tim Horton’s North stage for a celebration of the music of Roy Orbison
  • Thursday, July 25 – Pride Day – see performances on the Tim Horton’s North Stage
  • Sunday, July 28 – Family Day deals on admission

Rides & Games – Kiddieland & Majorland:

  • Most rides in Majorland require the rider to be 48″ (some up to 52″) to ride, or to ride alone
  • Kiddieland is aimed at the shorter patrons – most rides require the little rider to be 36″ to ride, and some 42-48″ to ride without an adult. Check out the height requirements and list of rides for 2019 here.

Kids Town:

Be sure to check out Kids Town from noon to 9 pm daily in Hall B in the Expo Centre. Access to Kids Town is included in your admission. Expect lots of things to see, play with and interact with, all geared toward the kids – including the world’s biggest Etch-A-Sketch in Toyopia.

Kids performances run daily and include magicians, baby shark, science shows and Backyardigan meet & greets. See more info and the scheduled line up here.

Be part of a World Record attempt at the biggest “Baby Shark” dance ever! Everyone is welcome – head down to the south stage on July 21 at 3 pm and be ready to shake it up!

THE FOOD:

All new food (and judges on what is the best!) will be available throughout the midway. New choices include deep friend ice pops, giant REESE cake pops, pizza perogies, cotton candy tacos and more. Feel free to hashtag #Edmontonmama on your food favorites on the midway!
