Up for a road trip, anyone? The Abbey Centre in Blackfalds has an family water park with huge slides attached to their rec centre. It’s approximately 1.5 hours from Edmonton which means it can be a fun day trip with no over night stay required. The best part? Family admission is just $20.
What You’ll Find There:
The rec centre has a fair size indoor play space, field house, fitness centre & of course, the outdoor aquatic centre.
The Aquatic Centre:
- Two huge water slides
- Splash park play area
- Toddler slides
- Shallow play area
- Hot tub
- Deep end with diving board
- Concession and eating area
- Lots of chairs and pool deck space to sit
- Pool is heated
Good to know:
- Kids 7 and under need to be supervised and within arms reach at all times – supervisor must be swim ready
- Kids under 48″ need to be accompanied down the slide by someone 13+
- Food and drinks are not allowed on the pool deck – only water. All other food and drinks must be consumed in the designated eating area.
- Kids need to pass a short swim test to go into the deepest part of the pool
- Wrist bands/admission is good for the entire facility inside & out for the whole day
- Hot days/peak times may result in a wait to get into the aquatic centre as they strictly follow the max capacity rules
