Gift cards for Christmas
- They won’t end up being returned/resold like a gift someone did not really want
- They are great to add to other physical gifts
- You don’t have to guess someone else’s personal style
- You are buying for someone picky, or who likes to choose their own gifts
- Go-to if you have run out of ideas for someone
- You are being conscious of waste consumption by not purchasing items you are not sure the person will enjoy
- Perfect for a last-minute gift
Plus, they’re easy & quick to buy. Did you know you can buy gift cards online at shopping.ca and they can be used at 22 different malls across Canada including Premium Outlet Collection at EIA, Southgate Centre and Crossiron Mills (in Calgary). Gift cards are easy to pick up in person when you are at the mall as well and come in denominations of $25-$1000.
For me? I love that I can give a gift card to my preteen and then make a shopping day out of it. I am all for experience gifts and an afternoon shopping with my girl would be a gift for me too.
It is the thought that counts, but gifting (or receiving) something you don’t really like can be awkward! What is a gift you were given (or gave to someone) that you couldn’t really do much with? Childhood gifts count too – I used to intricately fold papers and put them in more folded papers and then wrap them up for my family members. I am sure those were all kept somewhere really special though. Comment with yours!
