It’s the holiday festival season in Edmonton! We have rounded up a list of the Ultimate list of family-friendly events and most beautiful light displays you are going to want to see this year with the kids:
Borealis Lights Display:

Where: Kinsmen RV Park – 47 Riel Drive, St. Albert
Strathcona County Celebration of Lights:
Wear your ugly sweater and come on down for this year’s outdoor event. The 2022 display is free! Things to see & do include: interactive lighting, LED tree show, inflatables, fire dancer and character appearances including both Santa and the Grinch! Donations for the Strathcona County Food Bank will be accepted on site.
When: Saturday, November 19 – 3 pm to 5 pm
Where: Festival Place – 401 Festival Way, Sherwood Park
All is Bright on 124
The light up of 124 street will include light displays, live music, street performers, face painting, winter activities & more – all outdoors
When: November 19, 2022; 4 pm to 8 pm
Where:Â 124 Street (road closed) between 107 and 109 Avenues | Main Stage: Helen Nolan Park, 124 Street and 108 Avenue
Luminaria
Candle-lit paths, hot chocolate, Capella singers, ice sculptures and more + special event nights. Cost: $17 + up (kids under 12 are free this year!) – tickets must be purchased in advance. They sell out every year so get yours soon!

Magic of Lights:
Come see different Christmas themes come to life in light displays through this 2 km drive close to Leduc.
When: November 24, 2022 to January 1, 2023

St. Albert’s Snowflake Festival
Ride on the Polar Express, enjoy a petting zoo, play road hockey and meet Santa!
When: Friday, November 25, 6:30 pm to 9 pm
Where: Downtown St Albert (Perron District)
Lights Up, Fort Saskatchewan:
Check out the model train, warm up at the fire pits, take photos at the custom photo booth & warm up with some hot chocolate. Pre-registration is required. Cost: free
When: Friday, November 25 – 5:15 pm to 7:30 pm
Where: City Hall and the Public Library – 10005-102 Street, Fort Saskatchewan
Winter Whyte Light Up
Watch the light-up of Old Strathcona, see light displays, vendors, ice carving, photo booths, maple taffy stations, Christmas craft kits, light tunnel, live roving entertainment, giveaways & more.
When: Saturday, November 26 from 4 pm to 7 pm

Christmas in the Park, Devon:
Parade activities will include meeting Santa, candle lit story walk, Christmas carols, bon fire, kids zone, ice slide and more

Christmas Glow, Edmonton:
Half a million twinkling lights, interactive displays, magical play park, train rides, LED swings, Santa and more. Ticket prices vary.

Zoominescence: Festival of Light
Lights at the zoo – fire dancers, hot chocolate, light displays, super hero and fairy tale themed weekends and more.

Leduc County Lights:
Lawn display spans over 8 acres at it’s new location close to Leduc. Admission is $2 per person.

Festival of Trees
The Festival of Trees is back for 2022! You can order a festival box delivered right to your door, attend “Santa’s breakfast” view gorgeously decorated Christmas trees in person and more.

Candy Cane Lane:
Candy Cane Lane will be back for the 2022 season! Drive or walk the iconic street in West Edmonton this year. Sleigh rides will be available too!

Downtown Holiday Light Up:

Free family friendly activities including a Santa and Mrs Claus parade, fireworks and more
