The KidsFringe Has Gotten Even Better – Things to do With the Kids at the Fringe Festival in Edmonton

Photo: Travel Alberta – KidsFringe, Edmonton

The Kids Fringe means the whole family can enjoy the Edmonton Fringe Festival. On top of having 100% more dinosaurs this year, there are street performances, food, and daily activities in the kids’ very own section of the festival. Here is the breakdown of the Kid’s Fringe daily activities:

Daily Activity Stations:

  • Kids Stage with daily performances
  • Book Nook – Stories are brought to life in a magical and theatrical way
  • Box Fort Zone – Create forts built for Royalty
  • Craft Corner – every day is a new craft for the kids
  • Face Place – Make your face a work of art with daily face painting done by voluteers
  • Game Zone – Games and activities
  • Fringe Sensory Tent – Sensory activities for kids of all ages
  • Village of the Tots – Activities for tiny Fringers, newborn to 5 years old

Note that there is a new location for the KidsFringe this year – the Old Strathcona Community League – this place has more room, a playground, splash park, and it’s own venue for the kids theatre – so you are able to enjoy all of the children’s programming under one roof. See the full KidsFringe schedule HERE. Remember – the TYA shows indoors are written, directed by and performed by kids!

Tips: Make sure everyone is wearing comfortable shoes and layers, for changing weather conditions throughout the day. Bring your own water bottles to save on drink purchases, and to stay hydrated. Parking is limited on site, so consider public transit or shuttles. More info on transportation & parking for the event can be found here.
