During those hot summer days – cooking dinner is the last thing us moms want to do.
If your family loves pasta as much as mine does, every Monday and Tuesday Chianti’s Cafe & Restaurant holds an all day special referred to as the “pasta frenzy” on all of their pasta dishes for only $9.99.
This restaurant is a spot we have been visiting long before our kids came along. So it was only natural for us to continue eating at this kid friendly restaurant – dine in or take out.
Other than the great atmosphere and excellent customer service they provide to each customer, the portions are big enough to fill up hubby every time we go there especially since they put out fresh buns as soon as you sit down at the table. Bonus: these fresh buns will also come with your take out order for free.
Their menu has 30+ signature pasta dishes to choose from. Some of our favorites include their baked pastas such as the cannelloni and lasagna. My kids favorite is the tortellini in meat sauce, we always get the full portion compared to ordering off the kids menu. This way if there are leftovers, they can have them the next day for lunch and it makes life easier. You have the option of mixing and matching the type of noodles you want with the kind of sauce you would like. So if you have a white sauce lover, I would suggest trying their amazing pesto cream sauce and you can pair it with some gnocchi or penne and add some protein of your choice for extra. My personal favorite is their signature fusili giardiniera con pollo. I usually ask for no chicken since I don’t consume meat. This dish is full of vegetables and the pesto cream sauce is absolutely delicious. They also have quite a few gluten free and seafood options to choose from as well.
All of their sauces are freshly made in house and each dish is made fresh to order. One of my favorite gluten free specials during their Monday and Tuesday deals is their Salmon with dill cream sauce served with seasonal vegetables and gluten free pasta in olio. The starter size caesar salads and the bernard callebaut chocolate mousse is on special as well. It’s one of our favorite restaurants to dine in with the kids but also a great place to order take out. In the past, we have booked parties at each location to celebrate milestones and the owners are fantastic to work with, very accommodating and personable.
Try making it a tradition with your family or your girlfriends to connect over amazing food. Besides their pasta dishes, they serve amazing long island iced teas and put together a great antipasto dish that includes their lightly breaded and fried zucchini. My kids love the Mozzarella in Carroza – fried breaded cheese. Trust me, you won’t regret eating here.
The restaurant does run daily specials everyday of the week. Chianti’s Cafe and Restaurant has two locations in Edmonton and is a family run restaurant. Visit them at Clareview 13712 – 40th Street and Old Strathcona 10501 – 82nd Avenue. You can also order delivery through Skip the Dishes, which is an online delivery and take-out service.
