Family Friendly Halloween Activities in Edmonton, 2019
October is here and that means Halloween events and activities are going to be popping up all month long! We rounded up a list of the top family-friendly events going on in and around Edmonton to make it easy for you to find the fun:
Boo at the Zoo:
Come down to the zoo in your costumes for some family-friendly Halloween themed activities

Haunted Pumpkin Festival:
Corn maze, outdoor games, live entertainment & more!
When: Saturdays & Sundays in October and Thanksgiving Monday
Where: Prairie Gardens – 56311 Lily Lake Road, Bon Accord
TWOS IMAX Costume Party & Movie:
Wear your costumes and come down for some spooky science, breakfast and a family-friendly movie in the IMAX theatre *Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation*
When: Saturday, October 26 – 9 am

Holyrood Haunted House:
Visit and walk through this amazing Halloween themed yard with the kids. Enter the coloring contest to win awesome prizes for the kids!
When: Daily until Halloween
Where: 9640-77 Street, Edmonton
Spooktacular Acreage:
Halloween fun that’s not too scary for the kids – walk the path of inflatables, animatronics & more. *This event is weather permitting* Event is free, but they are accepting donations of unwrapped gifts for children under 12 in support of the Kinsmen Stony Plain Christmas Hamper program
When: October 12 to October 31

Servus Place Halloween Haunt:
All ages inflatable haunted house, crafts, tot play area, carnival games & more
When: Friday, October 18 – 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Where: Servus Credit Union Place – 400 Campbell Road, St, Albert
Lakeland Haunted House:
Annual family-friendly haunted house – new location now indoors! FREE entry but donations to the food bank and Zoe’s Animal Rescue Society are appreciated and accepted.
When: October 18 to October 31 – Mon-Fri 5 pm-9 pm & Sat-Sun 3 pm-9 pm
Where: 820, 3880 Sherwood Drive, Sherwood Park (Aspen Plaza)
Summerside Haunted House:
Candy donations accepted for entry. Lights on from 4 pm to 5:30 pm; lights off from 5:30 to 8:30
When: October 21 to October 23 – 4 pm to 8:30 pm
Where: Summerside Resident’s Association – 1720 88th Street SW, Edmonton
Cy Becker Haunted Showhome:
Visit the haunted showhome in Cy Becker – 3 pm to 5 pm is child-friendly without any actors in the home. Entry in exchange for your choice of donation for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. *5:30 to 11 pm is a bit scarier! (meant for adults)*

- October 31: 3 pm – 5 pm
- November 1: 3 pm-5 pm

Halloween Candy Hunt:
Indoor trick-or-treating stations with spooky photo booth
When: Thursday, October 31 – 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Where: Mill Woods Town Centre – 2331 66 Street NW, Edmonton
Family Halloween Art Party:
Come dressed in costume for a photo-shoot and keep-sake plate making – for babies, tots and older children. Tickets are $50 and includes admission for one adult and one child, treats, a mini photo shoot and the salad-sized plate made by the attendees.
When: Saturday, October 19 – 10 am – 11:30 am
Where: Glazing Pot Studio – #108 – 31 Fairview Blvd, St. Albert
Kids Camp: Harry Potter in the Kitchen at Hogwarts:
Wizards & muggles can use their skills in the kitchen to make chocolate pretzel wands, cauldron cakes and other magical treats. Tickets need to be purchased in advance, spots are limited. $60/person

- Saturday, October 25 – 9:30 am to 1 pm
Where: ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen (Edmonton Downtown Learning Centre) – 10035-105 Street, Main Level
Hallo-Whinny Family Event:
Halloween crafts, pool noodle horse races, glowlight pumpkin toss, costume parade of horses *and photo opp with the horses* outdoor scavenger hunt & more. Tickets for a family of up to 5 are $25 each
When: Saturday, October 26 – 6:30 pm to 9 pm
Where: Whitemud Equine Learning Centre Association – 12504 Fox Drive, Edmonton
Spooky Strathcona County Museum:
The museum will be transformed into a child-friendly spooky sight. Haunted exhibits and other “spooktacular” activities.
When: Saturday, October 26 – 6 pm to 9 pm
Where: Strathcona County Museum & Archives – 913 Ash Street, Sherwood Park
Galaxyland Fright Night:
50% off admission – music loud, lights dimmed; zombie apocalypse, on site special effects, haunted house & more *may be scary for kids under 13*
When: Saturday, October 26 – 7 pm to midnight
Where: Galaxyland, West Edmonton Mall
