Front Yards in Gloom:
Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year! Not only are there Halloween activities happening all over the City, but there are some people who go that extra mile to decorate their yards for us all to enjoy and have fun with. Ward 3 City Councillor Jon Dziadyk is administering the Front Yards in Gloom program this year and I can’t wait to see what Edmontonians come up with.
Know someone who has gone the extra mile to decorate their yards for Halloween this year? You can vote for your favorite Halloween yard (or balcony) – or vote for yourself – and the winner will receive nominal prizes and public recognition.
Categories:
- Residential categories: Scary & Festive
- “Storefront” category for business
How to Vote:

How to Find Nominees:
The funnest part! Want to see the submissions so far? Search the hashtag #frontyardsingloom to view photos posted on social media. *This is another way to nominate someone – using this hashtag*
We will be checking out a few of our favorites throughout the month! Follow along with our adventures on the Edmonton Mama Instagram Stories.

Hello
I entered but have not got confirmation of my house
Where do I check if My entry went through
Hello, I don’t think they are publicly listed anywhere. When you nominate a yard it goes to the internal system – if you have questions or would like to confirm your entry has been received, you can message the councillor in charge of this program directly – he has both a Facebook and an Instagram that is checked regularly.
Otherwise you can see entries if they’re posted on social media and the hashtag #yardsingloom has been used. That also counts as an entry 🙂
When do photos need to be submitted by? I do not put out all my decorations until just before Halloween
I would assume you can enter right up until Halloween or just after – you can find more info as well as contact info for the councillor running the event here 👇🏻
