The City of Edmonton’s FREE drop in Learn to Skate program is back for 2019! The program is free to attend. It is aimed at kids aged 6 to 12, but family members of any age are welcome to join as well. Basic skills and fun games will be taught by an instructor at outdoor rinks at various locations throughout the city.

Full schedules for the (over 30) community leagues hosting the program with days/times can be found on the City of Edmonton website, HERE.

Classes have already started and will run through to February 17, 2019. The program does not run when it is below -23, so check the weather before heading out!

Tips:

  • Bring your own skates
  • Skaters must bring their own CSA approved helmets
  • Double check the schedule to be sure the program is running in your area for that day, and that the temperature is not below -23, as the program will not run if it is colder than that!
  • Dress for the weather (gloves are so important!)

And of course, have fun!

The City of Edmonton is also offering FREE indoor drop in skating programs this year! For more info, click HERE.
