The Edmonton Ski Club welcomes you for the 2024 Cardboard Cup! Get creative as you build a sled with limited materials and race your way to $1000! Will your sled stand the test of the slopes? If so, maybe you’ll walk away with a cash prize! You won’t want to miss this FREE family friendly event. Get building!

Who can participate?
Age Groups:
Kids 6 to 9
Kids 10 to 12
Adolescents 13 to 17
Adults 18+
Children 5 and under are not able to participate
What are the rules?
Sleds can only be made from cardboard, string, glue and tape. You can paint and decorate your sled, but no batteries or electronics of any kind are permitted. Your sled cannot be more than 7 feet in width and height. There are no restrictions on length and weight.
Helmets are required for this event (ski, snowboard or hockey helmet)
Prizes
Ages 6 to 9 | $100 for 1st place
Ages 10 to 12 | $100 for 1st place
Ages 13 to 17 | $100 for 1st place
Ages 18+ | $100 for 1st place
Design prizes | $1000 for 1st place – $500 for 2nd place – $300 for 3rd place
Other “fun” monetary prizes will be given by 102.3 NOW! Radio
Parking
Edmonton Ski Club is located behind the Muttart Conservatory. Parking is available next to the interim day lodge. Please park respectfully.
