Lunar New Year Festival – Kingsway Mall
Celebrate Lunar New Year with Kingsway Mall! At this wonderful festival, enjoy a program of family friendly games, workshops, performances and much more! All of the events of the festival will happen throughout the mall, with larger performances happening on the main level by the Starbucks and JD Sports and on the upper level by Marshalls. Don’t miss the God of Fortune Parade which starts at 11:30AM!

Lunar New Year Extravaganza – West Edmonton Mall

Unofficial Galaxies – Southgate Centre
Are you a Star Wars fan or have a Star Wars lover in your life? Then you won’t want to miss what Southgate Centre has to offer! Head on over to the mall to see one of the largest collections of Star Wars memorabilia. This collection has 134 exhibits in 22 scenes. A portion of the ticket sales go towards YOUCAN Youth Services.

Ice Grooves – City Hall Plaza
Sharpen your skates and get ready to bust a move over at Churchill Square with Ice Grooves! Skate and dance along to music played by a live DJ! Skate rentals will be provided by The Edmonton Arts Council on a first come, first served basis. You won’t want to miss this fun winter event!

Winter Recreation Activities – City of Edmonton
The City of Edmonton welcomes you and your family to partake in some winter recreation activities! These FREE programs encourage families to get outside during the winter months and find joy in the outdoors! Activities will include kicksledding, snowshoeing, snow fort building, orienteering, ice bikes and more. Even spend some time by the toasty fire enjoying a hot chocolate.

Winter Wagon Rides – Fort Edmonton Park
Can you hear those sleigh bells jingling? Discover the magic of winter in Edmonton’s scenic River Valley. Admire twinkling lights strung up around Fort Edmonton Park’s historic streets, while bundled up in a festive horse-drawn wagon ride throughout the entire park. Enjoy some hot chocolate to warm up before you continue your tour. Wrap up your tour with a bonfire!

Winter at the Garden – U of A Botanic Garden
Embrace the magic of winter at the Garden! Head on down any Saturday and Sunday from December 16 to February 11 and immerse the entire family in a variety of activities. Try kick sledding, snowshoeing and even cross country skiing. Then, enjoy a hot apple cider or hot chocolate while you warm up around the fire!

Snowshoe and Stargaze – Elk Island National Park
Take part in two unique experiences at Elk Island National Park: snowshoeing and stargazing! A short guided snowshoe hike around the shore of Astotin Lake takes you atop the snow like a snowshoe hare while stars twinkle overhead. With a park interpreter, settle in next to a campfire and look up into a sky full of twinkling stars and learn to navigate the night sky of the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve.
