There’s a new park in Calgary where family and friends come together to learn, experience and gather. Full of adventure, there’s something incredible about Granary Road – here, play is whimsical, and it should be at the top of the list for places you’ve got to visit in Alberta this summer.
Three kilometers of trails lead kids of all ages through a series of eleven exhibits each featuring imaginative play areas in either animal, insect or agricultural themes. Giant animatronic spiders, bats and frogs greet kids as they climb and play on swings, slides and climbers that thrill their imaginations.
Each stop is based on an animal, insect or agricultural theme with an interactive learning component and an exciting activity like a 16′ foot web climber that has a giant wolf spider at the top or a 4-story bigger than life ant farm with an obstacle course in the tunnels or an echolocation bat maze where kids navigate using sound plus many other great experiences.
In addition to the places to adventure and play, you’ll find a marketplace, and a bistro. You’ve got to add this place to your list of places to explore in Alberta this summer, if you’re going to be adventuring near Calgary.
Prices are reasonable, at $13 for a child, and $17 for an adult. The structures are fantastic, full of adventure and beg to be climbed on and explored.

Have you seen the one in edmonton? I am wondering if it is mobility-friendly for children with impairments. When I read 3 kilometers, I am thinking not?
