Edmonton Fire Rescue Services is once again opening the doors to local fire halls across the city for their annual Fire Station Open Houses, giving families the chance to meet firefighters, explore real fire trucks, learn important fire safety tips, and see inside working fire stations.
These popular community events are completely free to attend and are a great way for kids to connect with local firefighters while learning about emergency services in a fun, hands-on environment.
Whether your child dreams of becoming a firefighter or just loves big trucks and sirens, this is one Edmonton summer event series you won’t want to miss.
What to Expect at Edmonton Fire Station Open Houses 🚒
Each Fire Station Open House gives Edmonton families the opportunity to:
- Meet Edmonton firefighters and fire prevention officers
- Explore fire trucks and emergency equipment
- Learn important fire safety information
- Ask questions about firefighting and emergency response
- Experience a real working fire station
Open Houses are FREE to attend and run from:
🕛 Noon to 4:00 pm
Because stations remain fully operational during the events, families may even get to see crews respond to emergency calls in real time.

Fire Station Tours in Edmonton 🚨
Did you know Edmonton families can also book fire station tours throughout the year?
Edmonton Fire Rescue Services offers station tours that help educate children and families about fire safety, emergency services, and firefighting equipment in a smaller group setting.
Fire Station Tour Hours
Tours are available Monday to Friday during the following times:
- 10:00 am – 11:30 am
- 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
- 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Most tours take approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
Fire Station Tour Information
- Small groups and families of up to 7 people can visit without a formal booking
- Groups of 8 or more require a formal booking application
- Maximum group size is 30 people, including supervisors
- Stations may be called away to emergencies during your visit
If a station responds to an emergency during your scheduled tour, the tour will be rescheduled.
School & Group Tour Requirements
For organized group tours:
- School-aged children require 1 supervisor for every 5 children
- Kindergarten-aged children require 1 supervisor for every 3 children
Before kindergarten tours, Edmonton Fire Rescue Services recommends:
- Play Safe! Be Safe! kits available through Edmonton Public Library
- Learn Not to Burn materials available through many school libraries
Groups are also asked to provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
