Sturgeon county Winterfest
Winterfest is a day filled with both outdoor and indoor fun! You can visit the Alberta Petting Zoo and enjoy pony rides with Carousel Amusements. Don’t forget to try maple syrup sticks from the Canadian Mapleshack. Take a horse-drawn wagon ride between the Agriplex and Cardiff Park Skating Trail, provided by Longriders Sleigh and Wagon Rides. For outdoor adventures, Fearless in the Forest has exciting activities. Inside the Agriplex, you can enjoy hot dogs, chili, S’mores kits, and beverages from Celebrations Flare Catering. Join the local Buy Nothing Group and give your gear a second life. Accepted items include hockey equipment, skates, helmets, snowshoes, trekking poles, skis, ski poles, snowboards, sleds, and toboggans.

Strathcona Winterfest begins at 1pm with a cook-off, a penny carnival, prizes, skating, and an opportunity to learn how to crokicurl. There will also be a free BBQ, hot chocolate, a firepit with s’mores, kids’ outdoor activities, and indoor crafts. Sleigh rides will be available until 4pm. The Mac & Cheese Cook-Off will accept entries from 1pm to 3pm (more details are provided below). Starting at 2pm, there will be indoor carnival games for kids. At 3pm, the judging for the Mac & Cheese Cook-Off will take place.
