4 Outdoor Waterparks Near Edmonton You’ve Got to Visit This Summer

With summer in full swing, it’s time to get those fun Summer adventures going! Some of our favs are close to home – each one of these outdoor water parks is under ninety minutes from Edmonton.

Blackfalds Abbey Centre | At only $20 to visit for the entire family, this fun outdoor waterpark is great for all ages, whether you’ve got older kids that want to play on water slides or younger children that want to play in the splash park. Located just outside of Red Deer, it’s a great way to spend the day. Pictured above. 

Whitecourt River Slides, Festival Park | FREE when you bring your own tube, or rent one on site (first come, first served). This man-made river course has two options for sliding, one a bit faster than the other. You’ll also find a playground, splash park and small concession. Bring your own food and make a day of it.

Discovery Canyon | Open for the Summer, this shallow tubing area and extended beach is a favourite destination because it’s so close to Edmonton. FREE if you bring your own tube, or rent them for $6/person. Natural river-fed water pool, playground, a concession and washrooms on site.

Sylvan Lake Wibit Obstacle Course | The Wibit course is one of those ‘do it at least once’ during the summer months. It’s a great option for older kiddos (kids must be 6+). One hour, half day or full day passes available.
