The Hills are alive – and they’re coming to the Jubilee. As a child, this was one of my mother’s favourite movies; and we’ve watched it probably hundreds of times. As an adult, I know all the words, the story, the journey. It’s a classic, and as always, the rendition from Rodger’s and Hammerstein is one that you’re not going to want to miss.
The Sound of Music
When you know the notes to sing, you can sing most anything! Tickets are now on sale for the national tour of The Sound of Music in Edmonton. The classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical will play the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium from September 19 through September 24.
Set in Austria on the eve of World War II, The Sound of Music tells the story of the musical von Trapp family and the nun who becomes their nanny and eventual step-mother.
Featuring music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, the score includes favorites such as the title song, “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Edelweiss” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain.”
